The following are the eligibility requirements for all renters in order to be considered for the program. If the lease in joint (with two or more tenants), then all tenants listed on the lease must be listed on the application. It is vital for applicants to submit the required accompanying documentation to ensure a complete application submittal. Only complete applications will be considered for funding. The eligibility requirements are as follows:
- Applicant must have experienced a COVID-19 related involuntary financial hardship, resulting in involuntary reduction in income of 20% of more due to a change in employment, medical hardship; or received unemployment benefits after March 1, 2020 due to COVID-19
- Applicant must be residing in a rental property located in Cobb County, on or after March 1st
- Cash on hand or in banks from applicant(s) cannot exceed 3X’s the monthly rent (retirement/401K accounts are excluded)
- Applicant’s gross income may not exceed the following: for single applicants – $69,439; for joint applicants – $94,672
- Applicant must provide documentation to support all of the above, to include but not limited to the following: proof residence, proof of hardship due to COVID-19, proof of unemployment and/or proof of financial impact from COVID-19, proof of income, and 2 months of most recent bank statements. All documentation will not be required at the time the initial application is submitted, but will be required BEFORE the application is approved.
